From Barbie Boxes to Big Platforms: The Rise of a Momager

When Taliah J. Mateen became a momager, it wasn’t exactly planned. One viral birthday party later, she found herself managing the fast-growing career of her daughter, Tacori Aaria, now known online as “The Philly Princess.”
And the internet has been watching ever since.

Before the followers and performances, Tacori was simply traveling with her mother to fashion shows across the country. Taliah, founder of IVAT, a youth luxury fashion house, exposed her daughter to creativity, music, and fashion early. So when Tacori said she wanted to make music at just 11 years old, her mom supported the vision.
By 2023, that vision became very real.
Tacori performed her song “Hips” for the first time at The Fillmore Philadelphia during a fashion event connected to IVAT. The very next day, clips from her Barbie-themed 13th birthday party hit Instagram, complete with a custom outfit, Barbie box, and a performance that instantly grabbed attention online.
The result? Her following jumped from 5,000 to 100,000 followers almost overnight.
That moment changed everything.
As Tacori’s popularity grew, so did Taliah’s role behind the scenes. From performances across the country to building a social media presence that now reaches over one million followers across platforms, the mother-daughter duo has grown together in real time.
But beyond the numbers is a story about a mother recognizing her daughter’s potential and being willing to learn, adapt, and build alongside her.
Today, at just 15 years old, Tacori Aaria continues to grow her brand, music career, and online presence, while Taliah continues to prove that modern motherhood sometimes looks like managing schedules, protecting a brand, filming content, and still showing up as mom first.
Their story is a reminder that sometimes the biggest opportunities begin with simply paying attention to your child’s dreams and being bold enough to help bring them to life.
